“Little Things’ Home We Must Protect” seeks to demonstrate that small actions in the spheres of nature and ecology can be the intervention we need to create a better planet. Through ‘Bug Hotel’, this project proposes a sanctuary for these small creatures, threatened by pesticides and insecticides, to provide emergency relief for insects that have lost their homes in urban environments. The concept of insect hotels is already in practice around the world, as seen in several European countries. However, the unfortunate reality is that in Korea, awareness of the need to protect, coexist with, and provide emergency relief for insects still remains largely unaddressed. Therefore, through this project, we hope to encourage reflecting upon the climate crisis and the sustainability measures required, and how they closely connect to our everyday lives.
